Emma Fiorante
writer. actor. creator
about me.
I am a multidisciplinary storyteller currently residing on the traditional lands of the Treaty 4 Territory. I have a strong interest in new play development, physical theatre creation, and writing for kids' television.
I recently completed my Master of Fine Arts in Scriptwriting and Story Design from Toronto Metropolitan University. My children's animated script, "Earth to Schneider," earned recognition as a semi-finalist at the Ottawa International Animation Festival’s Pitch THIS competition.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from TMU’s Performance Acting School, where I honed my skills and developed a strong foundation in theatrical arts. Since then, I've collaborated with companies such as Dora-nominated Mixtape Projects, where I had the privilege of exploring my versatility in creative direction and script development as an assistant director and dramaturg.
My artistic endeavours extend beyond borders, and international experiences shape my journey. From studying British, Scottish, and Irish contemporary theatre in Scotland to working with London’s physical theatre ensemble Frantic Assembly and spending a summer in Los Angeles studying screenwriting at UCLA, I continue to seek knowledge from other creators that can enrich my approach to storytelling.
I am driven by an unwavering passion for my craft and a serious dedication to fostering nurturing and supportive environments for artists where creativity can thrive. I firmly believe that to unlock one's artistic potential, actors must feel both secure and encouraged in their journey of self-expression. As I continue to evolve and explore new avenues of creation, I am determined to be an empathetic collaborator and find projects that aim to inspire, challenge, and resonate with audiences.
